• Monday 21 October 2024 Official Opening of Walsall's Digital Skill Hub On Friday 18 October 2024, guests from local community organisations, education institutions, public services and businesses came together to celebrate the official opening of The Mercian Trust’s new Digital Skills Hub on George Street in Walsall.
• Thursday 22 August 2024 The Mercian Trust celebrates GCSE & Key Stage 4 results across all nine of its Sandwell and Walsall schools
• Thursday 15 August 2024 Sixth Form Results Day celebrations at The Mercian Trust schools in Sandwell and Walsall Across The Mercian Trust, 700 students are collecting the results of their A Level and vocational qualifications. Our Trust, which runs nine schools across Sandwell and Walsall has Key Stage 5 Sixth Form students in seven schools: Aldridge School, Shire Oak Academy, Queen Mary’s Grammar School, Queen Mary’s High School, Walsall Studio School & Sixth, Q3 Academy Great Barr, and Q3 Academy Tipton.
• Friday 12 July 2024 Our week of Work Experience at The Mercian Trust As Year 12s at Aldridge school, we have to complete a week of work experience. We were delighted to get the opportunity to work with Mark Smith, the Marketing and Communications Manager at The Mercian Trust. Over the course of the week, we have been given a range of different tasks and activities to complete whilst we have been here. Mark said to us in our first meeting that he didn't want to give us work that wouldn't be useful to him and that wouldn't be of use after we leave, therefore all tasks have been beneficial to the Trust and helped us develop our marketing skills and knowledge.
• Thursday 4 July 2024 Mercian Trust Performing Arts & Music Festival We were delighted to host our inaugural Mercian Trust Performing Arts & Music Festival on Thursday 4 July 2024 at our state-of-the-art performance space at Studio School & Sixth in our St Matthew's Campus in Walsall Town Centre.

• Tuesday 7 May 2024 North Star Federation and Mercian Trust stakeholder consultation North Star Federation and The Mercian Trust are consulting on the proposal for the schools of the North Star Federation (Rushall Primary School and Oakwood School, Walsall) to convert to academy status and join The Mercian Trust, a multi academy trust currently comprising of nine schools in Walsall and Sandwell.
• Tuesday 2 April 2024 Chair of The Mercian Trust Appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands The Mercian Trust is proud to announce that our Chair of Trustees, Mr Kevin Davis, has been appointed as Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands. In this role Kevin will support the Lord-Lieutenant – His Majesty’s personal representative in the West Midlands – in several ways including attending on Royalty during official visits to the county, representation at citizenship ceremonies, supporting the armed forces of the Crown particularly the reserve and cadet forces, encouraging charitable and voluntary work and local initiatives to benefit the community, as well as promoting and encouraging nominations for Honours and the King’s Awards for the County of the West Midlands.
• Thursday 15 February 2024 Our CEO, Dan Parkes, has been shortlisted for CEO of the Year award.
