Friday 12 July 2024 Our week of Work Experience at The Mercian Trust As Year 12s at Aldridge school, we have to complete a week of work experience. We were delighted to get the opportunity to work with Mark Smith, the Marketing and Communications Manager at The Mercian Trust. Over the course of the week, we have been given a range of different tasks and activities to complete whilst we have been here. Mark said to us in our first meeting that he didn't want to give us work that wouldn't be useful to him and that wouldn't be of use after we leave, therefore all tasks have been beneficial to the Trust and helped us develop our marketing skills and knowledge.

Tuesday 7 May 2024 North Star Federation and Mercian Trust stakeholder consultation North Star Federation and The Mercian Trust are consulting on the proposal for the schools of the North Star Federation (Rushall Primary School and Oakwood School, Walsall) to convert to academy status and join The Mercian Trust, a multi academy trust currently comprising of nine schools in Walsall and Sandwell.

Tuesday 2 April 2024 Chair of The Mercian Trust Appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands The Mercian Trust is proud to announce that our Chair of Trustees, Mr Kevin Davis, has been appointed as Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands. In this role Kevin will support the Lord-Lieutenant – His Majesty’s personal representative in the West Midlands – in several ways including attending on Royalty during official visits to the county, representation at citizenship ceremonies, supporting the armed forces of the Crown particularly the reserve and cadet forces, encouraging charitable and voluntary work and local initiatives to benefit the community, as well as promoting and encouraging nominations for Honours and the King’s Awards for the County of the West Midlands.
